James Tyler Studio Elite HDX in their Antarctic Shmear is like the F1 race car of guitars. The HSH pickup configuration offers a versatile approach to crafting tones with power, performance covering loads of different styles. Playability and tone on these HDX Studio Elites are second to none. Tylers are known for their striking design features, versatility to cover loads of musical genres and of course their aesthetic flair. This one features an Alder body for a balanced eq with clarity and that familiar tone, resonant with authority. The quartersawn maple neck with straight & tight grain is super slick feeling. The locking Hipshot tunes and G2TS bridge keep tuning stability in check. We went with a rear-rout on this one to highlight the shmear finish and overall vibe and have a clean look for the HSH pickup configuration.

The neck shape on this one is the Standard 64 - a super stable, slightly smaller than the Tyler 59 neck, with a rounded C shape with a bit less shoulder than the 59. It's familiar feeling and you’ll fall in love the moment you pick it up. The 1 11/16" nut width provides a familiar string spacing, for chords & lead work.
