Here for sale we have a Fender American Special Stratocaster in Surf Green finish. Made in the USA in 2013, this guitar features a bolt-on construction comprising an Alder body, Maple neck and 22 fret Maple fingerboard. Nickel/Chrome hardware is fitted including Vintage-Style Synchronized Tremolo bridge and upgraded Sperzel locking tuning machines. A trio of Fender Custom Shop Texas Special Strat single-coil pickups are installed, and are wired to a 5-way blade switch, master volume, neck tone and bridge tone controls. Both tone controls feature Fender's Greasebucket Tone Circuit, which rolls off highs without adding bass. 

The Maple neck plays very well, with Fender's popular Modern 'C' profile filling the hand nicely for a substantial yet articulate grip across the register. The Maple fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers, with its lacquered finish providing a smooth and durable playing surface right the way up to the 22nd fret. Its 9.5" radius is practical for both chordal and melodic playing; balanced perfectly between comfortable chord playing and practicality for lead lines and solos. The Jumbo frets provide a rock-solid feel under the fingers whilst enhancing the feel of string bending and vibrato techniques, as well as reducing the pressure needed to fret a note for a speedier playing neck. 

The trio of Fender Custom Shop Texas Special Strat single-coil pickups deliver warm, vintage-inspired tones, perfect for bluesy riffing and SRV style licks. Indeed, these are the same pickups you will find in the Custom Shop SRV Stratocaster. Enamel-coated wire, alnico V magnets and staggered pole-pieces work in conjunction with a reverse-wound middle pickup and overwound output for a seriously warm, hot and well balanced output, with a midrange bite, crystalline highs and tight bass response. Fender's Greasebucket tone circuit eliminates the issue of adding bass when rolling down your tone control; simply dialling back the top end without beefing up your lows.

Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: Overall very good condition. All aspects of the headstock demonstrate light scratching, only visible under direct light at certain angles. Light indentations are apparent at the bass side front face edge in line with the tuners, and to the treble side side face.

Neck: Overall very good condition. All aspects of the neck and fingerboard demonstrate light scratching, only visible under direct light at certain angles. Light finish delamination is apparent surrounding the dot inlays.

Body: Overall very good condition. All aspects of the body demonstrate light scratching and indentations, only visible under direct light at certain angles. Most notably an indentation to the side face at the treble side of the lower bout and waist. These markings have not removed the finish to reveal the wood beneath.

Condition of Frets:

The frets demonstrate light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.

Current Set Up:

Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (1/8" hex) not included.

Hardware: Fully functional and very good condition. Light scratching and tarnishing is apparent to the input jack, bridge, tuners and neckplate. Light scratching is apparent to the pickguard and back plate.

Structural: No concerns or issues to note.

Height of the string from the 12th Fret-1.5mm - Bass 2mm
