Reloop OM-BLACK OM cartridge for headshell mounting

Reloop OM Black
The Reloop OM Black is a cartridge built for headshell mounting, designed to deliver superb sound characteristics alongside a very sturdy construction. This combination of quality audio performance and durability makes it a versatile choice, equally suited to critical listening and more demanding applications like scratching.

Design and Construction
The OM Black is built around headshell mounting, giving it a secure and standardized fit for turntable setups that use this configuration. Its defining trait is a sturdy construction — engineered to hold up under repeated and vigorous use. This robustness is what allows the cartridge to move beyond simple playback and into more active handling without compromising performance.
Sound and Stylus Performance
At the heart of the OM Black is a spherical stylus, paired with excellent sound characteristics that define its listening experience. The stylus design also contributes to low vinyl wearout, helping protect records over repeated plays — a detail that matters for anyone who values the longevity of their vinyl collection alongside sound quality.
Built for Scratching
Beyond its listening credentials, the OM Black is explicitly appropriate for scratching. This is a direct result of its sturdy construction, which allows it to withstand the stress and manipulation involved in scratch techniques — something not every cartridge is built to handle. It's this dual identity, strong enough for scratching yet refined enough for excellent sound, that sets the OM Black apart.
Why We Love This
Our gear experts appreciate the OM Black for its rare balance of performance and resilience. Its excellent sound characteristics deliver a listening experience worthy of serious ears, while the spherical stylus helps minimize vinyl wearout — protecting valuable records over time. What truly sets it apart is versatility: the sturdy construction means it's equally at home in careful listening sessions or intense scratching. For DJs and audiophiles alike, that combination of durability and sound quality makes the OM Black a dependable, multi-purpose choice.
