The bundled podcast editing and setting software, TASCAM Podcast Editor, makes it easy to edit and assign sound sources to sound pads, supporting intuitive and simple editing without requiring specialized knowledge.

The Mixcast 4 features four microphone inputs and four independent headphone outputs, allowing you to start recording immediately after plugging in your microphone. It includes automatic leveling and automatic mixer functions to adjust the recording level to suit your environment, eliminating the need for complicated operations. Furthermore, it utilizes a large 5-inch color touchscreen panel. Its intuitive design allows you to quickly access the necessary menus, freeing you from cumbersome setup and preparation.

Mixcast 4 offers a one-stop solution for everything from audio recording to mixing, including direct recording to an SD card, wireless recording of call audio via Bluetooth® connection, easy remote recording via a 3.5mm LINE IN, and the ability to import audio and background music from a PC via USB connection. It supports up to seven people through four microphone inputs and three external inputs. It also features a talkback function, allowing the host to give instructions to participants regarding program progress via a separate channel from the recorded audio.

The Mixcast 4 features a built-in sound pad that allows for sampler (sound trigger) operation. In addition to default sound sources, the sound pad allows you to customize and register your own chosen sound sources or recorded audio from a microphone connected to the unit as sound effects. Real-time audio effects such as voice changers and reverb can also be easily controlled from the sound pad. This is a welcome feature for live streaming.
