Here for sale we have an Ernie Ball Music Man SUB Electric Bass in Textured Teal finish. Made in the USA in 2006, this bass consists of a Poplar body, a Maple neck, and a 21-fret Rosewood fingerboard. Other appointments include Chrome hardware, Vintage-Style Open-Gear tuners, a 4-saddle Chrome Top-Loading bridge, and a Music Man Humbucking pickup. This pickup has controls for volume, and a 2-band EQ.

The Painted Maple neck profile feels slim and consistent, allowing for comfortable reach in all registers and promoting ergonomic thumb positioning. The 9.5” radius Rosewood fingerboard provides a smooth and comfortable playing surface, along with the 1.6” nut width which allows for different techniques such as slap bass or chordal playing. The satin finish is fantastic for smooth, quick transitions up and down the neck whilst the double cutaway body design allows the player to have unobstructed access to the entire register.

The humbucker produces a modern voicing, with a thumping low end that is complemented by driving mids and a smooth top end that helps put your playing stand front and centre in the mix. The 2-band EQ Active Preamp provides an extra push that's needed for live settings or to drive the amplifier when you need that bit extra, whilst helping remove unwanted bass and treble when it's not needed, providing a great instrument for tonal sculpting. The simplistic nature of the control layout provides the player with an easy ‘plug in and go’ characteristic for ease of tonal sculpting.

Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: Overall very good condition, the top edges demonstrate consistent indentation chipping the finish and revealing the wood beneath. The front edge demonstrates some finish touch up performed to an amateur standard, using a sharpie marker or similar to colour the exposed wood. This is also apparent to the bottom side front corner.

Neck: Overall very good condition, the rear of the neck has buffed to a gloss through regular use. A small chip to the finish is apparent to the center of the profile in the early register, revealing the wood beneath. Light indentation and scratching is apparent throughout the register, somewhat discernible beneath the thumb. The fingerboard demonstrates occasional slight string impressions beneath the path of the strings. This cannot be felt beneath the string.

Body: Overall very good condition, the edges of the treble side horn demonstrate consistent moderate indentations which pierce the finish and reveal the wood beneath. This is apparent to a lesser degree to both sides of the lower bout, most notably on the bass side bottom edge.

Condition of Frets:

The frets demonstrate light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for future fret work.
