For sale is my 1996 Fender 50th Anniversary American Standard Stratocaster in Antique Burst, one of a limited run of just 2,500 guitars. This example is number 1,232 of 2,500, as confirmed by the numbered 50th Anniversary neck plate.

It also features the rare quilted top, which looks particularly good in the Antique Burst finish plus pleasingly aged and tarnished gold hardware.

It’s a great-playing and great-sounding USA-made Strat from the 1990s. It plays and sounds fantastic, but it has clearly been played over the years and has various age-related marks, which I’ve tried to show in the photographs.

There is some damage/chipping to the bottom of the body, along with various other chips, dinks and marks consistent with its age.

Including a crack from the jack socket. 

There is also some delamination of the lacquer on the back of the neck. This is a fairly common issue with Fender finishes from this era. It is cosmetic and doesn’t affect the playability but can be felt in the hand. 

The guitar has been priced accordingly to reflect its condition. I’m being completely upfront about the cosmetic issues so there are no surprises for the buyer.

Despite the wear, it plays and sounds great, and the combination of the 50th Anniversary specification, limited production number, rare quilted top and Antique Burst finish makes this a particularly interesting Strat.

Comes with a genuine Fender hardcase.
