This is the sought-after transitional issue featuring the stylized lowercase "amir" script, produced right before Zildjian replaced the original series with the cost-cut "Amir II" line in 1987.

Unlike the later Amir II budget models, these mid-80s cymbals retained the heavier, premium European-style B8 sheet bronze formulation, precision tonal lathing, and focused hammering engineered to compete directly with classic 80s rock lines like Paiste 2002. They deliver the bright, cutting presence and fast projection that made 80s B8 hats a studio and stage favorite.
