~ HD-SHIKIZAKURA’26/ATB (Headway) ~
The 2026 model inspired by the Shikizakura of Obara, capturing the serene beauty of cherry blossoms and autumn leaves in a unified theme.
■ Shikizakura, Autumn Leaves, and the Moon Floating in the Night Sky
The design theme for the 2026 Shikizakura model is "The Night Sky." The headstock features a scene of Shikizakura cherry blossoms and autumn leaves illuminated under a moonlit sky, inviting you into a picturesque autumn evening.
■ Dedication to Utilizing Genuine Shikizakura Wood
The cherry blossom inlays feature actual branches pruned from Shikizakura trees, generously provided by the Obara Tourism Association. While previous regional models often featured locally sourced cherry wood for the body, the Shikizakura’s presence was primarily expressed through design artwork. Driven by the desire to incorporate authentic Shikizakura wood into the instrument itself, these pruned branches were crafted into inlays, bringing the living spirit of Obara’s native Shikizakura directly to the guitar.
■ Capturing the Magical Illuminated Shikizakura
The pickguard design captures the enchanting view of Shikizakura and autumn leaves illuminated by night lighting. Unlike their soft appearance under daytime sunlight, the night-lit petals emerge vividly and fantastically. This design fuses the splendor of nature with the artistry of light to create a truly one-of-a-kind visual scene.
■ "Shikizakura Night Gradation" – The First Night Blossom Color for the Shikizakura Model
"Yozakura" (Night Blossom) is one of the most popular color finishes among Headway's cherry blossom models. By combining this iconic shade with the Shikizakura concept for the first time, the "Shikizakura Night Gradation" was born—a finish where the deep night sky and the rich reds of the Shikizakura seamlessly melt into one another.
■ A Woman with a Japanese Umbrella Looking Up at the Night Sky
The back of the body displays a woman holding a traditional Japanese umbrella, looking up at the Shikizakura and autumn leaves under a moonlit sky. This serene scene set in the quiet of the night evokes the gentle transition of the seasons.
■ Red-Accented Appointments Tailored for the Shikizakura Model
"Autumn Red" is an essential color for the Shikizakura model line. For the 2026 model, materials were meticulously selected to integrate red accents throughout the instrument. The body binding incorporates a vibrant red material styled with a turquoise pattern. Additionally, custom-made red wooden bridge pins and endpins complete the look, extending the signature red theme down to the finest details.

■ Headway’s Thinnest Ever: "Extra Slim U Neck" Breaking away from traditional Headway neck profiles, this model features the "Extra Slim U Neck," designed with player comfort and effortless playability in mind. While maintaining Headway’s legendary neck stability, it incorporates a High-Strength Neck design reinforced with carbon support rods. Beyond structural rigidity, the carbon bars minimize unwanted neck flex, allowing string vibrations to transfer seamlessly to the body top for enhanced high-frequency responsiveness and expression.
■ '34 Semi-Forward Shifted Bracing
This model inherits the bracing pattern originally researched and developed by Headway Master Builder Yasuo Momose based on 1934 vintage acoustic guitars. The semi-forward shifted design places the X-brace intersection closer to the sound hole, yielding rich bass response and tremendous acoustic volume right out of the box. By positioning the X-brace approximately 5mm further toward the bridge than a standard forward-shifted layout, it also ensures superior structural stability for the soundboard.
