Since its founding in 1989, Atelier Z has been promoting Japanese-made active basses and continues to be loved by bassists both in Japan and abroad.

This model belongs to the M (MAGNITUDE) series, one of Atelier Z’s flagship lines that has enjoyed enduring popularity since its debut. This series combines a solid, grounded low end with a brilliant, exceptionally clear sound, making it the quintessential active JB bass recognized by countless musicians. Thanks to its high-precision craftsmanship, it is set up for low action, making it suitable for any playing style.

The design features a deep dark brown base with a see-through finish that beautifully highlights the body’s distinct wood grain. The grain, which shifts in appearance depending on the angle of the light, adds a subtle sense of luxury to the subdued color scheme. While understated, it maintains a strong presence and exudes a mature, sophisticated vibe.

The sound features an extremely fast attack and outstanding punch when slapping. Furthermore, the bass is rich and sustained, while the high frequencies are clear and well-defined, ensuring the instrument doesn’t get lost in a band ensemble.

Additionally, the Bartolini MCT-375 (Mid Control) pickup equipped on this model allows you to fine-tune a practical, “usable” sound for real-world performance.
