Komet KF50 Limited — African Bubinga Cabinet

An exceptionally rare piece of amp history. The Komet KF50 Limited runs a circuit designed by the legendary Ken Fischer as a tribute to his own Trainwreck amps. There was an initial 30-piece production run, plus an additional 10 units built specifically for Ultrasound, one of Komet's distributors — bringing total production to just 40 units in existence. This particular example is the first of those 10 Ultrasound units, identified by its unique serial plate marked UP00 (Ultrasound Promotional). Of the other 9 in that series, some went to Ken Fischer himself and others to Komet ownership. All 40 units share identical parts, with the possible exception of tubes, which were hand-selected for best tone — this amp retains its complete set of original tubes, still testing strong.

The cabinet is handcrafted from exotic African Bubinga with a contrasting flame maple V front, and the chassis is solid 1/8" welded aircraft-grade aluminum. Sonically, the amp delivers superb harmonics and clear rhythm tone, tight bass response, and more gain than similar Komet models due to its solid-state rectifier. It's a single-channel design — no reverb, master volume, effects loop, footswitches, pull pots, transistors, or chips — built to stay out of the way of the tone, and it's highly touch-sensitive in the way Ken Fischer's own Trainwreck amps were known for.
