Alleva Coppolo LG5 Standard in Cherry Burst Stain: Flame Maple Neck, Black Headstock & AC In-House 60s Pickups

I pulled this one out of the gig bag and immediately said ah dang it. That is what happens when you see something you want to keep. I am not sure I have fully recovered.

The cherry burst stain finish is genuinely unusual on an Alleva Coppolo. Jimmy tends to do painted bodies, and a stained finish is a special choice that lets the wood breathe through the color in a way paint never does. The subtlety of this particular burst is what gets me: warm, rich, and classic without being loud or dramatic. And then there is the black headstock, which for this bass is just absolutely perfect. The combination reads as LP Junior to me and I think it is one of the most visually cohesive Alleva Coppolos I have ever seen come through FretSpot.

Then there is the neck. Flame maple is an upgrade over the standard Sugar Maple neck and the figuring on this example is just ridiculous. Running your hand up the back of this neck while you play is its own experience. Combined with the cherry burst body and the black headstock this instrument is a complete visual package from every angle.
