Here’s a vintage Gretsch with plenty of character! Butler Music is offering this 1972 American-made Gretsch Chet Atkins Country Gentleman, complete with its original hardshell case.

With its rich walnut-colored finish, beautifully figured wood, gold hardware, double-cutaway body and Bigsby vibrato, this guitar has the unmistakable Country Gentleman look. It’s an appealing piece for someone who appreciates a vintage instrument with decades of honest use behind it.

Condition details:

This guitar shows scratches, scuffs, finish wear and aging from years of use. The hardware has tarnish and worn plating. There are also hand-engraved identification markings on several components, including the pickup surrounds, pickguard, vibrato assembly and rear neck-access cover.

The body binding has substantial cracking, deterioration and missing sections, clearly shown in the close-up photos. Please examine these areas carefully; the binding damage goes beyond ordinary surface wear and may require restoration depending on the next owner’s preferences.

The original case also shows age and wear. Although the guitar retains many period features, we are not representing every component as verified original.
