Alembic Custom Signature Deluxe Scorpion 2018 Walnut/Mahogany

If you’re looking at this bass, you probably already know that Alembic doesn’t really do “ordinary.” This one is a particularly good example of that philosophy.

The original Alembic paperwork identifies this as a Custom Signature Deluxe, model MKLB4, completed August 22, 2018. The build sheet specifically lists a “3/4 Scorpion body w/ point” as a custom option, giving this bass its particularly distinctive shape. The figured Walnut top and back look fantastic over the Mahogany body, with Maple/Purpleheart accents running through the instrument.

The custom details continue throughout: Ebony fingerboard with abalone oval inlays, Maple/Purpleheart neck, gold/brass hardware, green side LED fret markers, beveled peghead front and back, continuous wood backplates, and a Crown peghead. 

It has Alembic’s active electronics with volume, pan, two filters, and two Q switches, giving you an enormous amount of tonal control.

It’s an Alembic through and through, but this one has enough custom touches and visual personality to really stand apart from a standard production instrument. The original Alembic build sheet and warranty paperwork are included in the photos for reference.
