This is a one-of-a-kind piece created by master luthier and artist Berti Giscomo of GB Liuteria. Its value goes far beyond that of a simple bass: it is, in every respect, a collector’s item. Sensus 5-String Bass

Body

Body made of ayous, with a figured oak top featuring a black-tinted brushed finish.

The back of the body has a handcrafted matte chameleon-green finish.

The body features a glued pickguard made of natural-colored quilted spalted maple with black resin inlay and a matte finish.

The Sensus body integrates our Multi-Pickup system, with covered pickups. The covers also serve as guides and thumb rests in all playing positions.

Neck

5-string neck made with a 9-layer lamination of maple, mahogany, sycamore, and wenge, featuring a low-profile, asymmetrical shape.

The neck is equipped with a dual-action truss rod, with access to the adjustment through the neck pickup cavity.

The neck-to-body joint uses our Ultra-Profile system, in which the neck profile continues smoothly and seamlessly into the body.

On the back of the neck, the bass features Luca Nicolasi’s signed logo. This instrument was developed in collaboration with Italian bassist Luca Nicolasi.

The neck is treated with Teflon to ensure maximum smoothness.

GB Liuteria zero-fret system, with a wenge spacer insert.

Headpiece

Electronics

High-quality CTS potentiometers.

Wiring made with OFC copper and silver cables, coated in Teflon and silicone.

Where necessary, shielded cables are used, also made of OFC copper and silver.

The circuit uses a star-ground configuration, without cavity shielding, to prevent an excessively closed sound and the formation of ground loops.

The instrument features a blend control and an oil-paper capacitor.

The knobs are handcrafted by GB Liuteria from wood and matched to the back of the body.

Bridge

T4M individual-saddle bridge, chrome finish.

Pickups

The instrument is supplied with hand-wound Alnico 5 single-coil pickups, capable of delivering a defined, powerful, and modern sound.

Strings

Dogal strings.
