With the Gibson Les Paul Custom Long Scale Ebony, the Gibson Custom Shop in Nashville, Tennessee, presents a truly special version of the Les Paul Custom. Unlike most other Les Pauls, the Gibson Les Paul Custom Long Scale Ebony features an extended 25.5-inch scale length, which has a significant influence on the instrument’s tone and playability. This Custom Shop model thus combines the classic features of the Les Paul Custom with the tight response of the extended scale length, which also makes it the ideal basis for drop tunings. Naturally, the Gibson Les Paul Custom Long Scale Ebony comes in a matching Gibson hardshell case and with a certificate of authenticity.

The Gibson Les Paul Custom Long Scale Ebony’s classically resonant fundamental character is provided by a solid mahogany body featuring a 9-hole weight relief. This design features strategically placed holes that serve as resonance chambers whilst also reducing the instrument’s centre of gravity, thereby ensuring better balance when worn on a strap. The basic construction is completed by a two-piece solid maple top with a traditional Les Paul top carve and multi-strip body binding.

The two Gibson 490R and 498T humbucker pickups in the neck and bridge positions of the Gibson Les Paul Custom Long Scale Ebony are true classics. These two double-coil pickups, each tailored to its respective position, feature elegant gold covers and deliver every conceivable sound, from expressive blues to stadium-filling rock. The underlying wiring is hand-wired in classic Custom Shop style and features high-quality CTS potentiometers for separate control of the volume and tone of both pickups. It also includes a pickup selector switch and an output jack from the US manufacturer Switchcraft.
