VINTAGE ISTANBUL K ZILDJIAN 14" HI-HAT CYMBAL (Single Hi-Hat, 764 grams)
This is one of the nicest vintage Istanbul K Zildjian 14" Hi-Hat cymbals that you are likely to find. This is from the “new stamp” era (1967-77). It weighs in at a nice 764 grams, and is in excellent (near perfect) condition. This cymbal has been lovingly stored for many years. It has no keyholing, no edge nicks, the signature on the underside of the bell is impeccable, and it will even come in the period correct plastic bag shown in the pictures.
If you've been looking for the perfect single Old K Hi-Hat, you’ve found it. I believe this is a top hat (but also works nicely as a bottom with a lighter top). You can pair this with just about any bottom and make a fantastic set of hats. One of my favorite combinations is with a heavy, unhammered “rock” bottom hat that gives a sound similar to Zildjian’s later K/Z pairing, but oh so much better.
