Slingerland Radio King 4pc Drum Set - Blue/Silver duco

Rather than reinventing the wheel, DW chose to faithfully recreate the spirit of the classic Radio King. Great condition for nearly new. You can still smell the new through the vent hole.  

Now being made in Oxnard, CA by DW Drums @ fall of 2025. The new Radio King series drums feature 3-Ply Mahogany/Poplar/Mahogany shells with solid maple reinforcement rings. The condition is not 100% excellent, as a couple of minor surface marks occurred although I transported them in nice Humes & Berg bags. The pics show 14 x 20 virgin kick drum with new modern spurs that are so much better than the old wobbly vintage style. There is a slight scratch of the duco satin paint on the bottom of the bass drum which comes with the light poly pillow inside. The 8 x 12 rack tom with "diamond" 12.7 mm tom mount has a tiny nick in the finish near the badge. I found that the 14 x 14 floor tom with stout legs & a memory lock can tune quite low if you want. There is no other hardware included or cymbals. However, this set up is featuring a Slingerland Radio King 6.5 x14 Artist Snare that will ship in the double box from the Oxnard facility that I received it in. Same with the other two boxes- shipping is included in our lower 48 only please. 

Drums come with USA made Remo stock heads, batter and reso. Presently they await the new owner and are not being played; just resting in a climate controlled room and abiding to journey to the new owner's place in the original factory boxes.

Shells & Construction

At the heart of the new Radio King Artist Snare lies the same formula that made the originals legendary. DW has stayed true to Slingerland’s traditional shell design, carefully matching materials and construction methods that shaped the warm, full-bodied sound drummers still chase today. Every detail — from the plies to the reinforcement rings to the edge profile — has been crafted to deliver that unmistakable Radio King tone while ensuring modern consistency and durability. The video captures the current tuning style of this snare, which is medium low and one can feel the throat of this shell when sitting next to it. The toms resonate well and are punchy as heck with a little muffling and mic for live music or studio work. In the video I did not activate or turn the dual muffler nickel plated knob which evenly applies pressure to two felt pads that work quite well at subduing overtones.
