The D-28 is arguably the most famous model in the entire Martin lineup. Since its introduction in 1931, it has remained one of Martin's definitive models and an enduring standard loved by professional musicians around the world. Its powerful low end and balanced chord response have helped create countless legendary performances.

This is a 2004 C.F.Martin D-28, from the era before the major specification changes that would later redefine the model.

Compared with current D-28 models, this guitar has a somewhat more modern appearance, with its 42.86mm nut width, non-forward-shifted and non-scalloped bracing, and stylish gold Martin logo. At the same time, the long-running specifications of this era give it a distinctly nostalgic character.

The D-28 has long served as a benchmark for acoustic guitars, offering a powerful yet balanced sound that adapts to a wide range of playing styles and situations. From chord strumming to fingerpicking, its straightforward and highly recognizable tone is capable of covering a broad range of genres.

This instrument has been well used and shows considerable playing wear, including numerous scratches throughout the body. There has been a crack repair on the top and side, a wooden plate has been added to cover the previous XLR jack location near the endpin, and there is a chip on the headstock angle. The guitar has also undergone a neck reset, resulting in very comfortable playability.

This is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a classic D-28 with a well-established vintage character and the powerful, versatile sound for which the model is known.
