Up for sale is a lot of two (2) vintage wooden recorders made in Germany by the Th. Mollenhauer workshop, both from their Solist (Soloist) series. This pair includes an Alto and a Soprano recorder, both complete with their original vintage presentation boxes. These are hard to find info on so the below descriptions are my best estimation.
1. Mollenhauer Solist Keyed Alto Recorder (F)
- Design: Traditional 3-piece construction (head joint, body, and foot joint).
- Wood: Beautiful, light-grained European hardwood (likely pearwood).
- Features: Includes a vintage brass key mechanism on the foot joint, designed to make reaching the lowest tone holes easy and comfortable.
- Condition: Good vintage condition. Light surface marks, no cracks and the cork is in good shape. The key mechanism moves slowly but seems to function.
2. Mollenhauer Solist Soprano Recorder (C)
- Design: Traditional 2-piece construction (head joint and a single integrated body/foot joint).
- Wood: dark-stained hardwood.
- Accessories Included: Comes with the original vintage wire cleaning brush and the original paper fingering chart.
- Condition: Structurally sound with no cracks in the wood body. Cork is in good shape. Please note there is noticeable cosmetic finish wear/peeling on the dark stain at the tip of the mouthpiece (beak) from historical play (please reference photos)
These are sold AS-IS and no returns are accepted. Please send us a message if you have any further questions regarding condition.
