Santa Monica Music Center was established in January of 1972 by professional drummer Paul (Chico) Fernandez as a teaching studio and talent management office. The business grew to include a recording and photography studio that supported the development and promotion of signed talent. In 1974 the business saw the addition of Victor Fernandez, Chico's brother. In 1979 the business partners decided to add the retail music store to its operation and discontinue the recording studio operation. In 2018 Chico’s daughter, Lana Negrete took over the business. Lana took the business further by partnering with local schools to provide the best instruments for school students. Santa Monica Music Center has been serving local customers and schools since it’s inception and we pride ourselves in offering top notch customer service.
