A wonderful Trident 80B desk, manufactured 1985. 32 channels, 24 bus, 24 channel monitor return, integrated patchbay.

It is a fantastic sounding classic British rock-and-roll desk. I particularly love the drum sounds I’ve been able to achieve. The famous Trident 80-series EQ is as beautifully musical as they say; it is a joy to use.

I have owned the desk for five years. Originally acquired from a studio in Asheville, NC. I went down and drove it back myself. Currently located in Toronto and would prefer a local sale, but I can help arrange shipping Canada-wide (preferred) or to the US.

Known issues:

- one dead channel; two others are intermittent.
- a couple of the buses are weak-sounding

- some of the bus-assign switches are unreliable

All channels can be patched from the direct out to the bus in (“group in”) or to the multitrack/DAW in on the patchbay. These issues have not prevented good functionality but if you prefer, we could discuss having them rectified before purchase.

I’m not certain what the deal was with phantom supply on these desks at manufacture - but this one has been modified to include phantom via mini-switches on 22 of the channels; there is a separate phantom power supply included.

Console includes all relevant snakes with EDAC connectors. Some will have snipped tails, so you’ll have to rewire the EDACs to your multi-pair; some are terminated with connectors. There are new EDAC snakes for outboard rack gear, all terminated to XLR. I have some extra EDACs as well which I will include, as well as one extra patchbay board with 8 patch points on it, for parts. Two working power supplies included (one original and one new) as well as aforementioned phantom power supply. One original non-functioning power supply also included.

Comes with two handsome wooden speaker platforms that attach to the top of the console, and original stand/legs.

Truly a fantastic vintage desk with years and years of service left in it. Sorry to see it go but making some changes at my spot.
