Vintage 1990's Shure Unidyne III SM57 Cardioid Dynamic Microphone Low Z w shock mount and Atlas GN-6 gooseneck # 2
Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome.
You are looking at a quality Shure Brothers dynamic cardioid microphone from the 1990's that has been thoroughly cleaned and tested. This is a Mexican made Shure SM57 model mic that was factory set at low impedance and once of the best affordable mics around. It comes with a harder to find Shure shock mount / mic clip and the flexible chrome Atlas AD-6 gooseneck.
This mic was originally manufactured in the USA for several years before manufacturing was moved to Mexico in the 1990's and was then moved to China around the year 2000. Again, this is the Mexican model. The inner pop filter was degrading from age so it had to be removed and replaced which was done. This mic will be good for another 40 years to come at least.
The SM57's are very desirable to use for vocals, broadcasting and they happen to be great snare mics as well. The tone is lovely on these and has just the right amount of bass. Excellent uni-directional characteristics as well.
The mic has 100% output with zero issues and the XLR pins were cleaned for a perfect connection once a cable is attached.
The SM57 is an all metal design with a painted body and is about average in weight. The mic is appx 6 inches long X 1 inch wide at the front grill. As you can see it's in good overall condition with typical wear on the handle. Scratches, scuff marks and paint loss from years of use. The Shure badge looks very good and the front grill is excellent being free of any odors, tarnish or dents.
The XLR pins were cleaned as well as they were quite tarnished. This will ensure a perfect signal once a cable is attached.
Microphone is a very conservative 6 on a scale of 1 - 10 physically speaking. The real beauty of this mic is the sound it produces. Hook this one up and you are ready for any live event.
The rare Shure shock mount / mic clip is an all metal model and works great gripping the mic firmly and reduces unwanted vibration while the mic is live. I honestly don't know the model number of this shock mount but I have seen it before in a couple older Shure catalogs. It's an extremely rugged design with a stock black painted finish.
The shock mount has just typical lite wear but works great and you can hold the mic upright or upside down. This shock mount will screw on to any American desk or floor stand you have though it's currently attached to the short Atlas AD-6 chrome gooseneck so that you can get addition reach and flexibility from your SM-57. It's a nice and unique combo package that will really come in handy.
The GN-6 will screw onto any boom arm or desk or floor stand that you have to work with. The GN-6 is in perfect physical and operating condition and is quite firm.
This little set up will be a favorite go to and a fun conversation piece.
