For sale: an outstanding Fender Custom Shop 1967 Heavy Relic Stratocaster. See photos for detailed specification. Purchased new from Reidys Music in Feb 2017.
This is without doubt the most convincing relic I have ever seen from Fender - I’ve often been asked if it was made in 1967.
The guitar was experly refretted by Garland Guitars 4 years ago with Jescar 6105 fretwire (same dimensions as it came with originally). Some minor signs of fret wear are visible. The only modifications I have done is to install a Cahallam bridge block and tremolo arm and install a mint green pick guar. Both are completely reversible and the original block, trem arm and pick guard are included in the sale.
The case is in immaculate condition and the “case candy” and certificate of authenticity are included as pictured.
The guitar looks, sounds and plays great. It’s on the lighter side for a Strat at 3.4kg. I‘m selling to thin down my collection and because I have gravitated towards more modern specs in the last few years - and this guitar deserves to be played and loved for what it is. It is setup for 10s in standard tuning but can accommodate 11s in Eb if desired. Otherwise a truss rod adjustment may be needed.
Collection preferred. UK buyers only please.
