Sennheiser MKH 50-P48 Microphone Review

Built as a pressure-gradient condenser microphone, the Sennheiser MKH 50-P48 Microphone uses a supercardioid pickup pattern to focus closely on the sound in front of it while reducing noise from the sides. Its 40 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response captures a wide range of detail, while the 142 dB maximum SPL allows it to handle loud sources without easily distorting. A switchable 10 dB pad adds extra headroom for strong signals, and the 30 Hz low-cut filter helps reduce unwanted rumble. The microphone connects through a standard 3-pin XLR output and operates on 48V phantom power.
