With only 140 units ever made, this DX1 is a pretty rare sight. Nonetheless, this real deal example is here to stay. The top of the top for Yamaha, this synth offers 32 voice polyphony or 16 with the "split" feature. It's quite fashionable in a Brazillian rosewood housing, and its polyphonic aftertouch makes it still quite modern today. Rather than using membrane buttons, the DX1 uses tact switches making it quite easy to interact with. This particular unit has had its power supply completely recapped, making it run like a top.
Although it certainly looks it, this DX1 is NOT perfect. One of the endcheeks has been repaired at some point, and some sort of solvent has been used around the pitch wheel making the paint slightly raised but still stably attached.
