An exceptionally rare model, the Montana Gold model represented the revitalized Gibson Custom acoustic division at the highest level, headed by master builder Ren Ferguson. This particular example represents the 4th model ever made in the first year of production, making it highly sought after and special. It takes design from the J-200 model with upgraded headstock inlay, ebony fingerboard and deluxe fingerboard inlay. It has had recent work done in house including a fret dress and reinforcing the bridge plate. It has normal lacquer checking throughout and a few spots of missing finish shown in the provided photos. Structurally it is all set to go, with a large projection that has warmed up nicely over the decades. Includes a LR Baggs pickup system. Serial #M6_90046, comes with the original case.
