We have just received an 18-inch "Old K" Zildjian cymbal featuring the "New Stamp."

These rare vintage cymbals are highly prized by drummers across genres—especially jazz and blues—for their distinctive, "dry" (or "aged") sound.

"Old K" cymbals were produced at the Istanbul factory in Turkey until it closed in 1978; following the closure, the "K Zildjian" trademark rights were transferred to the Canadian factory. Cymbals manufactured in Turkey prior to 1978 are known as "Old Ks" and are currently regarded as the pinnacle of vintage cymbals.

This particular unit bears the "New Stamp" engraving, indicating it was likely manufactured after 1967. It weighs 1,330g, placing it in the "thin" weight category. The sound responds richly to variations in stick material and touch, allowing for an expressive performance that ranges from delicate nuances to distinctive "blue note" qualities.
