If you're feeling nostalgia for the '80s, don't worry--Gibson is too! The music culture of the '80s forced a lot of 'traditional' guitar brands such as Gibson and Fender to produce something more appealing to the hair metal bands, rather than the same old Strats and Les Pauls. Gibson produced the Victory, a unique double cut body unlike anything Gibson had produced before.
The Victory broke most, if not all of Gibson's 'rules'. It features a contoured double cut body, a 25.5" scale length, 24 frets and the Explorer-style headstock with Grover Mini Rotomatic tuning machines. Lighter, faster, and practical was the name of the game. Many bands at the time were in drop tunings, and Gibson elected to build a guitar with the longer 25.5" scale length for this reason, though it still feels great with standard tuning. Tonally, it's not dissimilar from a regular Les Paul--the mahogany body paired with the maple cap provides tons of sustain with added brightness to keep you cutting through the mix. A set of Gibson '80s Tribute humbuckers brings everything together, with push/pull volume and tone controls for coil tapping and inside/outside coil selection when the humbucker is split for endless tonal variety.
This is a BRAND NEW guitar. Comes with Gibson rectangle hard case/case candy. If you have any questions feel free to shoot us a message, stop by, or give us a call any time!
As usual, this guitar has been professionally inspected and setup by our in-house luthiers.
