Roland is a well-known major electronic musical instrument manufacturer. Many of their iconic instruments, such as the Space Echo and Chorus Ensemble, have received high praise both domestically and internationally, making them a popular brand in the vintage market.
This latest arrival is the "AF-60 BeeGee," which appeared in the mid-1970s and is a sister model to the "AF-100 BeeBaa," which was already a popular fuzz pedal at the time of its release. The casing has scratches, paint peeling, and bubble-like damage on the back cover, which appears to be subcutaneous corrosion.
The op-amp is a Toshiba TA7504M. The tone control is very responsive, and it can handle a wide range of tones, from a thick, fat fuzz to a crackly fuzz with a strong, gritty feel. Even when the volume is turned all the way up, the output isn't too loud, so the sound doesn't get distorted, which is a plus.
