BOSS FZ-3 Clone

I purchased this pedal from a very talented builder in Japan. They are truly excellent pedals! Below is the description direct from the builder:

This model is already discontinued, but it seems to have regained popularity due to a resurgence in popularity. I built this using my own original circuit board.
It's a discrete circuit like something a serious boutique manufacturer would make. I deliberately avoided the technical aspects typical of BOSS, building it based on the style of classic fuzz circuits and shaping the sound through parameter tuning. The core is based on the Fuzz Face/Tone Bender, so I think it's an easy-to-use fuzz with a distortion-like feel. It's a classic-style circuit, but because there's a buffer at the input, I think there will be fewer compatibility issues where it can't perform well when combined with guitars or other effects pedals. The buffer on the output side has been omitted.

The tone section circuit is similar to a Big Muff, but I think the effect is a little more straightforward.

I used transistors that I believe are the same as the original.
The other parts used are completely different, and because I omitted the electronic switches and the output buffer circuit, (although I haven't actually compared them side-by-side, based on experience) it may have a little more treble and clarity than the original. It shouldn't sound completely different, though.

It's true bypass.
