The early 1970s in particular were a turbulent era for the Fender Stratocaster, with one spec change after another. Each individual guitar has its own rich character, and if you're chasing "that '70s sound," you need to understand exactly what made it special. Finding a genuinely good example, though, is another matter entirely - miss your chance, and you may never see one again.

Which brings us to this 1971 Blond/Ash Stratocaster.
- Early bullet truss rod nut and Micro-Tilt neck adjustment, with a 3-bolt neck joint
- The just-revived one-piece maple neck (its first year back)
- Mid-1971 headstock logo (no "WITH SYNCHRONIZED TREMOLO" text)

The combination of a substantial ash body (roughly 4kg) and a 1-piece maple neck gives each pickup its own distinct character while keeping the overall tone clearly defined. It has already been refretted, so it's ready to go straight onstage or into the studio.

Even within the vintage market, a 1971 Stratocaster in condition this good is extremely rare. And an example with a blond finish over an ash body stands out for its looks as much as its sound.
