This is one of the only known fully working stereo pairs of 1966 LOMO 19A14 microphones in the world. Both microphones come directly from Russian Recording’s working mic locker, where they have been used on countless records and meticulously maintained for peak studio performance.

LOMO 19A14 Stereo Pair (1966)
Matched pair of ultra-rare Soviet large-diaphragm tube microphones with original 20B35 power supplies
This is an obscenely rare matched pair of fully original 1966 LOMO 19A14 large-diaphragm tube microphones, complete with their original 20B35 power supplies and factory cables. The two microphones are only nineteen serial numbers apart, both from the same production year, and each remains in outstanding original condition with no issues. Both retain their original built-in shock mounts and function perfectly.
The LOMO 19A14 is one of the rarest tube microphones ever built by the Leningrad Optical and Mechanical Association, with fewer than one hundred units manufactured. Despite being a large-diaphragm tube condenser, it is remarkably compact. This was achieved by relocating its massive toroidal output transformer and equally large PIO coupling capacitor (the same components used in the 19A9) into the external 20B35 power supply and placing a subminiature 6S6B tube directly behind the capsule inside the mic body.
Designed by LOMO engineer Dubrov, the 19A14 shares much of its circuit and sonic foundation with the 19A9 but features a double-sided version of the M7-style capsule. The rear diaphragm is a tensioned but inactive “dummy,” which creates a tighter cardioid pattern and a more pronounced presence rise compared to the 19A9’s single-sided capsule. The 19A14’s sound is reminiscent of the 19A9 but with a tighter pattern, less proximity, and an extended top end relative to the 19A9’s slightly darker tone, making it an incredible choice for vocals, overheads, and acoustic instruments.
Both power supplies operate on 220 V, so a step-up transformer is required for use on 120 V mains. We can recommend a reliable model available online for around sixty dollars.
This pair represents the only known stereo set of LOMO 19A14s we have ever seen or heard of, and they are also the only complete, fully working examples with original power supplies known to exist. They have been lovingly used on hundreds of recordings at Russian Recording for the past seven years, and now they can do the same for you.
Included:
• Two matched 1966 LOMO 19A14 microphones (consecutive serials, nineteen apart)
• Two original 20B35 power supplies
• Two original factory mic cables
• Two original shock mounts (integrated design)
• Two power cables with 220 V plugs
Note: These microphones operate on 220 V and require step-up transformers for 120 V operation. Reliable and affordable models can be recommended upon request.
