Rudolf Buchner was born in Schönbach in 1926. This Saxon municipality is part of the centuries-long instrument-making tradition of the Musikwinkel (“Music Corner”). Buchner studied violin-making under legendary luthier Roman Teller before earning the title of master in Nuremberg in 1961. In 1969, Buchner assumed responsibility for Teller’s workshop and began building an international reputation. His instruments are distinguished by impeccable craftsmanship and high-quality tonewood.
