About this listing
Ibanez EHB1005F Fretless Bass in Arctic Ocean Matte B-Stock 1757
The EHB1005F is a purpose-built headless fretless bass engineered for extended playing sessions without fatigue. Its slanted back body contours naturally against the torso, while the headless design redistributes weight toward the body to eliminate neck dive and reduce shoulder strain. This is a serious instrument for fretless specialists who demand ergonomic precision alongside modern tone and intonation control.
Design & Build Quality
The chambered American basswood body paired with the headless design delivers resonance and sustain while maintaining a manageable profile. A 5-piece rooted maple and walnut neck with graphite reinforcement provides exceptional stability and durability, while the Richlite fretless fingerboard resists wear and humidity fluctuations—critical for maintaining consistent intonation on a fretless instrument. Luminescent side dot position markers ensure visibility across the entire neck during low-light performance.
Tone & Electronics
A matched pair of Bartolini BH2 passive pickups deliver the warm, articulate midrange character that fretless playing demands, capturing the nuance and natural dynamics of finger technique. The Vari-mid 3-band EQ with EQ bypass switch provides instant tonal flexibility, and the locking Neutrik output jack ensures rock-solid connection stability during performance.
