A magnificent 1979 Greco GOB II, made in Japan during Greco’s "Golden Age" (1977–1982).
By the late 1970s, Greco was no longer content with simply producing excellent copies; the brand was also developing its own high-end instruments. The GOB (Greco Original Bass) series is a prime example of this.
This GOB II features neck-through construction—a hallmark of premium instruments—delivering exceptional sustain, precise attack, excellent tuning stability, and remarkable playing comfort.
Its "Natural" finish beautifully highlights the wood grain, while the original electronics deliver a precise, powerful, and highly dynamic sound.
NOTE: This is indeed a GOB II, not a GOB I. In 1979, some models came with only a single pickup.
RARE—even in Japan!
*Hand-selected and imported from Japan by us*
In excellent condition for a bass from 1979; it shows some signs of use, of course, but the frets are in good shape—rated 7/10 (see photos for details). It features a superb "Selected Rosewood" fretboard—very dense and dark, resembling ebony.
The original pickup delivers a full, warm, and perfectly defined tone, with great midrange presence and deep lows.
A bass equally at home in rock, blues, jazz, funk, or fusion! Specifications:
