1942 Epiphone FT-79. A very rare, early Epiphone flattop made in New York! 1942 was the first year of production for this model which would later acquire the “Texan” moniker after the company was bought by Gibson. This guitar features a Spruce top with Walnut back and sides. All original and in good condition with no cracks, breaks or repairs. Some normal play wear, dings, scratches and finish checking. This guitar has a big punchy sound with a dry, focused bass and chimey top end, delivering a tone slightly reminiscent of old J-200’s. A fantastic vintage Epiphone flattop! Includes original hardshell case.
