This is the new version of the Kryptone, our magic box of psychedelic fuzz!

The Kryptone is designed to recreate British rock and blues guitar tones from the 1960’s and early 1970’s, based on the first generation of the Vox Tonebender (the “Italian Tonebender”), but bringing it to the 21st century: it’s compatible with any instrument, amplifier or pedal, can be put anywhere in your signal chain, plugged to any standard 9V DC power supply and is versatile enough to go from fuzz to overdrive, and even a clean booster!

Unlike many people that intend to replicate vintage pedals exactly as they were made by the original makers and documented in their schematics, our goal was to use that as the basis, hear the classic tones we really liked and then shake it until it sounded like we always wanted it to be. Also unlike many people that go into this kind of adventure, we had plenty of real vintage references to fuel the process, including two original superb sounding Vox Tonebenders, and many other relatives.

Our main objective here was to get that dirtier, grungier saturation, chewing your guitar notes with lots of sharp edges, and that high frequency cutting like a hot knife on butter! In that process, we also solved some old issues and made the box friendly enough to fit any 21st century pedalboard without any hassle or compromise. Even Superman would be proud!

Deep Trip has been offering vintage sounds, with modern features and infinite possibilities since April 2007. Our pedals carry Switchcraft connectors made in USA, hi-fi standards WIMA capacitors made in Germany, low noise high precision Vishay resistors, Alpha potentiometers and footswitches.

Pedals sold here ship directly from our shop in São Paulo, Brazil, to anywhere in the world. We export pedals every week, so we know all the paperwork and all the details to get your unit to you as fast as possible, no worries or hassles! We usually ship by mail (post office, USPS, Royal Mail etc.), please let us know if you need anything different from that.
