It’s pretty hard to find the RUDES in the Sound Edge series, especially where you can hear what they sound like. Not a lot of places actually have these Paistes in stock.
Raw. Unlathed. Fairly dark. Great cutting ability without clanking - these Rudes are not as heavy as many people may think. But they still cut!
The RUDES have become one of Paiste’s hallmark series - used by Stewart Copeland, Nicko McBrain, Alex Van Halen, and many others.
And of course with that iconic, crisp, BONE CRUNCHING SOUND EDGE CHICK. It’s clean and shimmers!

A bit confusing Paiste ….but the main point is they’re raw, semi-dry, cutting, a punch complex when opened and with the iconic Sound Edge Chick that is so familiar to the ears!
At these grams weights, they’re not overly clanky. They sound great in medium settings too.
No issues. Played for the video and that is it. Perfect shape!
Not easy to find and it’s ridiculous to spend $550 at a big box store for a guess at your tone!
