About this listing
Here is a very nice mid 1980’s Fender Japan FujiGen built 1952 Reissue factory ‘Micawber’ Telecaster. It’s an E-Serial MIJ (1984-87) and was built for Fender in the legendary FujiGen plant as part of Fender’s sort lived collections series that also included an Esquire and all rosewood Tele. It’s a 1952 blackguard reissue based on Keith Richards’ famous modified ‘Micawber’ Tele. It is beautiful Butterscotch Blonde with some pretty white ash grain just showing beneath. It is all factory stock. The neck humbucker has been replaced but we are not sure what it is. It sounds very bluesy. And if you want it there is plenty of twang courtesy of the original TL Vintage in the bridge. Great tone on this one and the original factory fitted deluxe brass six saddle bridge gives you all the sustain you will ever need. Has a maple neck and fingerboard with single ply black guard. The neck is dead straight, truss rod fine and still plenty of life left in the frets. Structurally and electrically sound. No issues at all. No breaks, repairs or routing. It is in good condition for the age, with just normal age related playwear, including a few small dimples and dulling of the finish etc. It all lends to a genuine vintage look & feel. Playwear the lighter side for one of these old FujiGen Micawbers. Weight is 4.9kg. A great playing Tele, the pickups are both outstanding and work well together. Complete with Telecaster hardcase with key. A very cool old 30+-year old Fender ’52 blackguard Micawber.
