While the bolt-on maple neck offers easy access from the lowest to the highest positions thanks to the slim "GWB" profile, the ash body features a height-adjustable finger ramp that prevents the fingers from dipping too deeply into the strings, thus skilfully supporting fast playing techniques. The fretless ebony fingerboard ensures the singing fretless tone, while fretlines guarantee clean voicing. The Ibanez GWB205's electric sound conversion is handled by a passive Bartolini GWB pickup and active Bartolini NTBT 2-band EQ, which transport the rich fretless tone to the amplifier with natural dynamics and warmth.
