SABIAN 15" HHX Groove Hat Bottom

The SABIAN 15" HHX Groove Hat Bottom delivers a solid, controlled feel under the stick with its substantial weight and responsive B20 bronze construction. Designed as the bottom cymbal in a hi-hat pair, this cymbal produces a tight, focused character ideal for groove-oriented playing where definition and articulation matter. The heavy bottom works in tandem with a medium top to create a balanced, cutting response across dynamic playing styles.

Material & Construction

Cast from B20 bronze—an alloy of bronze, tin, and silver—this bottom hat undergoes traditional hand lathe and hammering designs with multiple sized peens, giving it a consistent, refined sonic character. The meticulous hand-crafting ensures reliable response and tonal consistency across the playing surface.

Sound & Performance Character

Classified as a heavy bottom when paired with a medium top, this cymbal provides solid articulation and cut without excessive wash, making it well-suited for styles requiring clarity and grip. The weight and construction favor controlled stick definition and responsive dynamics in both tight and open playing scenarios.
