With the Digbeth DB-EAST, British manufacturer Laney presents a powerful signature bass head developed in close collaboration with Nathan East. Widely regarded as one of the most accomplished bassists of our time, Nathan East is known for his work with music legends including Michael Jackson, Eric Clapton, and Herbie Hancock. The result is a flexible, professional-grade head for stage, studio, and rehearsal, handmade in Great Britain. The Digbeth DB-EAST is based on Laney’s DB500H head, which Nathan East used extensively during his 2023 tours. The signature model doubles the power, offering two independently controllable 500-watt power amplifiers – ideal for stereo operation, bi-amping, or advanced stereo setups.

The DB-EAST is exceptionally versatile in its preamp section, featuring two input channels: a FET-based clean channel and a tube-driven channel. These can be continuously blended using the dedicated mix control, covering a wide tonal range from pristine cleans to dynamic overdrive with a natural, responsive feel. A fully parametric 3-band EQ is paired with an additional tilt EQ for quick tone shaping, giving you both precision and speed when dialing in sounds. The Digbeth DB-EAST combines classic tonal philosophy with cutting-edge technology: Laney’s LA-IR system provides two XLR DI outputs with authentic impulse-response cabinet simulation, allowing you to send a fully produced, realistic tone straight to a mixing console or audio interface – no microphone required. The rear panel includes a USB-C port for direct connection to PC or Mac, enabling high-quality recording, preset management, and access to advanced functions via the free Laney app.
