This original vintage, first year of production (!) 1969 Gibson Les Paul bass, aka "triumph," or "recording," in in really great playing condition. These are also known as the les paul "personal" bass. She feels perfect and is fast as lightning; an absolute joy to play. She has a great, plunky, beach boys tone with the original mute, great with a little reverb!!! The neck is arrow straight and perfectly intonated, action low and fast, as if the frets are not even there. Original embossed low impedance "recording" pickups sound amazing, and actually have quite a bit of heft when set to high output, (rather than low for direct to the board) -especially with the tone selector choke wide open. All of the luscious, vintage gibby thump, bump, and a lil bit more. Original tuners are rock solid, and the original hardshell case pictured is included.

  Cosmetically, she displays all the most distinguished natural play wear one would expect of a well loved, well played and well cared for instrument of this age and pedigree, included at no extra charge. No cracks, breaks or repairs, just honest wear, especially in the belt buckle area. Look at that wood! The natural finish has aged wonderfully, and has that perfectly warm, yummy checkered patina of a fine vintage instrument.
