The NEEWER BASICS SL30 RGB light stick is a compact and portable LED light for photography, video and content creation applications. Measuring approximately 30 cm in length, the light stick is suitable for both handheld use and mounting on tripods or directly onto suitable metal surfaces. Its combination of white light, RGB colours and numerous dynamic effects makes it a versatile light source for studio shoots, live streams, social media videos, light painting or events.

With a power output of 8 watts, the SL30 achieves an illuminance of up to 460 lux at a distance of 0.5 metres. The colour rendering index (CRI) of 95 ensures a natural reproduction of skin tones, products and other subjects.

Three pre-set colour temperatures are available for classic white light. At 2,700 Kelvin, the light bar produces a warm light, whilst 4,000 Kelvin offers a more neutral tone. The 6,500 Kelvin setting, on the other hand, provides cool daylight. This allows the SL30 to be quickly adapted to different shooting situations and existing lighting conditions.

In addition to white light, the NEEWER BASICS SL30 offers extensive options for coloured lighting. A total of 51 RGB lighting effects are available. These are divided into 15 static RGB colours and 36 dynamic effects.

The static colours can be used, for example, to illuminate backgrounds, add colour accents or specifically highlight products and people. The dynamic FX programmes, on the other hand, are particularly suitable for videos, music clips, live streams or event applications.

Three of the built-in effects are sound-reactive. The light stick reacts to music or other sounds in its surroundings and produces dynamic lighting changes to match. This can create particularly interesting effects in music videos, social media clips, small parties or decorative lighting installations.

For cordless operation, the NEEWER BASICS SL30 features a built-in 3.7 V lithium battery with a capacity of 2,000 mAh or 7.4 Wh. According to the manufacturer, this provides up to 120 minutes of runtime at maximum brightness.

The light is charged via USB-C. A USB-A-to-USB-C cable is included in the package. This means the light stick can be charged using USB power adaptors, computers, laptops or portable power banks, amongst other things. This flexible power supply makes the SL30 particularly suitable for mobile photo and video productions.

As well as being used handheld, the RGB light stick can be mounted in various ways. Magnets integrated into the housing allow for quick attachment to magnetic metal surfaces. This means the light stick can be used, for example, at the side, overhead or in unusual positions.

In addition, the SL30 features a 1/4" thread at each end. This allows the light to be combined with numerous standard tripods, mini-tripods, lighting stands, articulated arms and other photographic accessories. Several light sticks can also be used together to create more extensive lighting set-ups or coloured backlighting.

Measuring just 295 x 44 x 44 mm, the light stick remains handy and portable. Its light weight of around 210 grams makes it easier to shoot for longer periods handheld and makes the SL30 a straightforward addition to mobile photography and video equipment.

This makes the NEEWER BASICS SL30 suitable for, amongst others, photographers, videographers, YouTube and TikTok creators, streamers, as well as for light painting, weddings, smaller events, product photography or decorative lighting tasks.
