Super Rare Giaccaglia Chord/Reed Organ (Italy, 1950s) – vintage electric organ and harmonium!

We are selling this rare and vintage mini chord/reed organ made in Italy by Giaccaglia in 1950s!

CONDITIONS: The organ is fully working and in good cosmetical condition for its age with some signs of aging and traces of use. We report some light marks on the white and black keys that are not easily visible in photos (please, check the photos). The metallic “Giaccaglia” logo, originally located on the front, is missing: only part of the last letter “a” and the small nail on which it was originally attached remain.

Otherwise, everything is perfect. All the keys and buttons work perfectly. Like all Italian reed organs from the 1950s, the internal fan is always a bit noisy, but that’s part of the instrument’s charm. It’s a very elegant instrument, and it is quite rare to find one in this two-tone finish like this, in light and dark brown. The later versions were usually finished in a single colour, with some yellow parts. This is a real vintage gem: grab a bargain!

Giaccaglia was the Italian brand that produced many legendary portable organs. The factory was based in the village of Castelfidardo (Marche), Italy, in the same area where Elka, Eko, Elgam, Busilacchio, Farfisa, Crumar, Jen, Siel, Solton, CRB, Bontempi, Antonelli, etc. were born.

DESCRIPTION: This is a super cool harmonium mini-organ in texture wood and brown finish. Turn it on and a fan starts pumping a soft and cool breeze across your fingers and you’re ready to go. It has a great sound. The air gets pumped over metal reeds which results in a rich sound!

In short, this organ is a lot of fun. It has a wonderful melancholy sound which evokes such musical greats as Daniel Johnston, Ivor Cutler and Beirut!
