Introducing the Rival Series guitar.
This guitar is uniquely designed to rival any other guitar on the market when it comes to the three things you've told us are most important... tone, feel and price.
This unique guitar design is the result of collecting feedback from our customers who told us the top three things they look for in a guitar are tone, feel and a great price. The unique design of the Rival Series delivers on all three of these points with a clean look.
Body
The body is made of North American maple. While maple is typically known as a bright sounding wood, we've chambered the body to add more resonant mid-range frequencies that compliment those bright tones.
We've contoured the heel on the Rival body shape to allow for complete access to the upper frets.
The body is sprayed by hand with a thin satin top coat to give it a natural looking finish.
Faceplate
The front of the guitar features an inlaid acrylic faceplate which comes in a unique Turquoise color (darker than our sea foam green color).
Neck
The neck is North American hard maple with a maple fretboard, dot inlays and comes with a super smooth satin finish. The profile is a Soft-C shape with a measurement of 1 and 11/16 inches at the nut. The nut is a GraphTech graphite nut and the frets are medium jumbo nickel frets.
This Rival guitar has a 25.5″ scale length.
Weight: 6.8 lbs
Hardware
All Rival Series guitars feature a chrome hardtail bridge with adjustable saddles and chrome 6 inline tuners.
Pickups and Electronics
Here's how Seymour Duncan describes these pickups on their site:
Bridge Pickup
The Antiquity for Duo-Sonic bridge pickup delivers the clear, smooth tone that made these guitars so well loved. We build them with vintage correct construction, complete with the proper size pole pieces that extend slightly through the baseplate. The flat pole pattern also helps to give you the nice, even string balance that is so characteristic of the Duo-Sonic, and is great for both chording and fingerstyle playing. Use as a replacement for your original Duo-Sonic or to add mojo to a modern one.
Hand built in our Custom Shop, the Antiquity for Duo Sonic uses untumbled Alnico 2 rod magnets, a custom coil wind with heavy formvar wire, cloth push-back lead wire, and each pickup is lacquered and was potted.
Our Duo-Sonics use a flat pole pattern to create a smooth, even single coil neck tone. Great for adding balance to a Strat with lighter gauge strings.
Comes with a 3-way Switchcraft toggle switch and is hand wound with 250k Alpha American pots.Neck Pickup
