Genelec 3440A Smart IP PoE Subwoofer (Black)

Overview

The Genelec 3440A is a Smart IP subwoofer powered over Ethernet, built to extend Genelec 4400 series Smart IP systems down to 35 Hz (-6 dB). One CAT cable carries PoE+ or PoE power, Dante or AES67 audio and control, and a balanced Euroblock input accepts analogue line audio too. Its 6.5 in driver sits inside a cavity in the MDF cabinet that raises efficiency and protects the cone. Power stored in the supply delivers 106 dB short-term SPL from 40 to 85 Hz at 1 m. The 3440A stands upright or on its side, and the optional 3440-400B bracket mounts it on a wall or ceiling.

Key Features

• Single-cable install: PoE+ or PoE power, audio-over-IP and management share one CAT cable up to 100 m long.
• Dante and AES67 input: Plays Dante and AES67 streams at 32 to 96 kHz and 16 to 24 bit, using one channel or the sum of two, and can sum in the analogue input.
• Bass management: Smart IP Manager sets the crossover from 50 to 120 Hz in 5 Hz steps, adds a matching high-pass to the main speakers and aligns delay and level.
• Cavity-loaded driver: The front-loaded driver cavity boosts efficiency and attenuates distortion products. The reflex ports have radiused exits to prevent chuffing.
• Stored power for peaks: The internal power supply stores energy for bass peaks and reaches 106 dB short-term SPL on PoE+.
• Flexible placement: Upright on the floor, flat on its side with the base pads moved, or on a wall or ceiling with the 3440-400B mount. Four M6 thread inserts are provided.
• Intelligent Signal Sensing: ISS drops the subwoofer to a 4 W standby when no audio is present and wakes it on an incoming stream or an API command.
• Hardwearing finish: Rounded corners and a textured surface in black or white.
