The Dynaudio BM6A is a two-way active nearfield monitor from the Classic BM range, made for mixing at close range on stands or a console meter bridge. A 170 mm MSP woofer and a 28 mm soft dome tweeter each have their own 100 W discrete MOSFET amplifier, fed by a fourth-order phase-aligned electronic crossover at 2.2 kHz. The response runs from 41 Hz to 21 kHz.

Low-Frequency Control

The LF trim uses an equalizer that trades bass level for extension. Turn it down for a deeper, critically damped low end, or up for more level with less extension. A separate HF trim adjusts the range above 3 kHz by up to 5 dB, and an input switch matches +4 or -10 sources.

Protection

A protection circuit disconnects the drivers on thermal overload or DC at the outputs, and an optical limiter keeps sustained overload away from the tweeter while transients pass through. Front LEDs show power or fault status and clipping in the woofer amplifier. The matte cabinet has radiused front edges to reduce boundary effects.
