Dynaudio LYD 5 5" Active Studio Monitor (White)

The Dynaudio LYD 5 is a compact active nearfield monitor for small studios, home setups and desktop mixing. Its handmade 5-inch MSP woofer uses the same lightweight aluminum voice coil as Dynaudio's hi-fi speakers and works with a 1.1-inch soft-dome tweeter, two 50 W Class-D amplifiers and a 24-bit/96 kHz DSP signal path. Tuning to Your Room

Three DSP switches on the rear panel adapt the LYD 5 to the room. Bass Extension moves the low-frequency cutoff 10 Hz lower or higher, trading bass reach against maximum level. Sound Balance tilts the response by 1.5 dB at either end of the spectrum for a brighter or darker voicing, and Position applies a boundary filter for speakers placed within 50 cm of a wall.

Connections and Setup

Balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA inputs take a feed from an audio interface, mixer or monitor controller. A three-position sensitivity switch sets the maximum input level at 0, +6 or +12 dBu, and an Auto standby mode shuts the amplifiers down when no signal is present until audio returns at the input.
