Mayones has become a popular brand in the blink of an eye.

With lead times measured in years, it’s clear there is global demand for their instruments.

The Jabba model showcases the brand’s exceptional design sense, blending a modern feel—featuring active EQ and 24 frets—

with the classic, timeless character of the Jazz Bass that appeals to everyone.

The 5-string model with a 19mm string spacing is also in high demand among Japanese players.

The neck scale, slightly extended from 34 inches, greatly contributes to the playability, supple string tension, and smooth sound characteristic of a 4-string Jazz Bass.

It features an original preamp named “Musashi Nitoryu.”

The manufacturer’s official website explains that it was “inspired by the dual-sword style developed by the legendary Japanese swordsman Miyamoto Musashi”—a detail that gives us a little thrill.

Described as “delivering ultimate convenience with a headphone output and AUX input in addition to the standard output,” it is indeed very convenient.

Not only does it have a built-in battery and support USB Type-C charging,

but you can also switch to 9V battery power with the flick of a switch—another highly convenient feature.

While the sound is clear and neutral, it retains the warmth characteristic of European-style instruments at its core.

The preamp offers a solid dynamic range without being extreme, allowing for a wide range of sound shaping and adaptability.

The pickups feature the manufacturer’s signature original VALVETONE P-type models on both the front and rear positions.

This model achieves a sound balance that’s even more refined than previous Jabba models.

While maintaining a sound character that stays firmly within the “jazz bass” category, the 5th through 3rd strings deliver a rich yet tight low end, while the 1st and 2nd strings produce an incredibly thick sound—unlike what you’d expect from high-pitched strings.

It overcomes the inconsistencies in sound balance between strings caused by the unruly nature of the lower strings and the thinness of the higher strings.

It features an ultra-thin open-pore finish that reveals the three-dimensional grain of the ash wood, finished in an exquisite color reminiscent of Japanese cherry blossoms.

Whether in sound or appearance, this instrument perfectly embodies the essence of Meiwans.

Don’t miss out.
